Knights Battleground Week 14

Men’s Basketball

Head Coach Mike Romano’s first season as the Knights Head Coach is well underway, and what in most programs would be a full rebuilding season, still has some promise for Rhode Island. As of 12/23, the Knights sit at .500 with a record of 6-6. The Knights are 5-6 in conference play in a competitive Region XXI. In the conference standings, the top 5 make the postseason, and the Knights are in 6th place, just a game out of the playoffs.

5. Bunker Hill - (6-5)

CCRI is led in scoring by Sophomore Jayden Desimone, who is averaging 23 points per game so far this season. 

Women’s Basketball: 

The Lady Knights came into the season at #8 overall in the NJCAA DIII National Poll, and have held that reign all season. Going into the New Year, the Lady Knights sit at 9-2 overall, a perfect 7-0 in Region XXI play. They are the #1 seed in Region XII. Take a look at the standings below.

CCRI is led on offense by Sophomore Angelisse Melendez, averaging 15 points and 5 assists per game.
