Knights Battleground Week 13
#10 Women's Basketball extends their win streak to 9, Men's team falls short to Bunker Hill
Women’s Basketball:
The 10th ranked Knights had only one game this past week, with their opponent being fellow conference rivals, Bunker Hill. The game was held on Saturday, December 14th for a 12:00PM tip-off at Vin Cullen field house. The Knights would show their dominance early as they would start off to a 10-0 lead within the first few minutes of the first quarter and would not look back. The Knights went into the half with a controlling 51-18 lead against Bunker Hill. The second half would be the same story as The Knights would play a full court press the entire game and cause 30 total turnovers for Bunker Hill. The Knights would end up winning 99-40, as turnovers were too much for Bunker Hill. The Knights had 6 players scored 10 or more in the 59-point win. Leading the charge was Kellylyn Kozlin who had 19 points and 8 rebounds. Right behind her was Angelisse Melendez who scored 17 points.
The 10th ranked Knights are back in action Saturday, January 4th visiting Southern Maine Community College at 1:00PM.
Men’s Basketball:
The Knights were looking forward to continuing their 3-game win streak against Bunker Hill Community College this past Saturday, December 14th at 2:00PM at Vin Cullen field house. The game would start out fast and physically from the start as both teams would play hard and scrappy defense. The Knights started out with the lead against Bunker Hill, but Bunker Hill would have multiple offensive runs and would lead the Knights 41-35 going into the half. The two teams would go back and forth for the majority of the second half. The second half would go back and forth as it remained a physical game. The Knights would slowly start to trail Bunker Hill and lose 80-67, breaking their 3-game winning streak. The top scorer for the Knights was Logan Volker who had 21 points.
The Knights are back in action Monday, January 13th for a scrimmage against CATS Global School at 6:00PM.
