The Knights Volleyball team traveled to Holyoke on Sunday to face the #1 seeded Cougars in search of a Region Title and chance at Nationals. After beating the reigning champion Bunker Hill on Thursday night 3-1, the Knights were looking to use that momentum against Holyoke in the early going.
The Knights came out battling in the first set, and back and forth rallies found the Knights pull away for a 25-18 Victory in set 1. In set two, the Knights stayed close, but after a few strong attacks from Holyoke, the Knights fell short in set 2, 22-25, but held their heads high and continued to compete. In set 3, the Knights had an early lead that was quickly wiped away by self infliction and a strong attack from Holyoke, as the Cougars won set 3 and took a 2-1 advantage into the 4th set. The Knights played extremely well in the 4th set, but in the end, Holyoke was too strong, and once again the Knights fell a few points shy, losing the set 23-25 and the match 3-1.
The Knights finished the season with a 15-5 Region record, and will look to continue to build on seasons that have seen the Knights get closer to a Region Title in each year the last few years.
